South-African ports increase Green Award incentive

The South- African Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) confirmed an increase of the Green Award incentive from 5% to 10%.

A 10% port dues rebate is applicable for Crude oil/Product Tankers in all South African national ports if not enjoying a rebate in terms of double-hulled/SBT.

Green Award Managing Director Jan Fransen handed over the Green Award plaque to Nico Walters, Executive Manager Strategy and Transformation at Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA).

TNPA is the custodian of the country’s primary trading hubs, managing the most vital conduits of the country’s imports and exports. Eight of the country’s major seaports are controlled and managed by the TNPA namely; Richards Bay, Durban, Saldanha, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, East London, Mossel Bay and Ngqura (Coega) in the Eastern Cape.

The new incentive is applicable as per 02-12-2008.
