The Port of Sullom Voe was one of the first ports to join the Green Award scheme in the nineties. It was with great disappointment to hear that the oil tanker traffic in this port reduced dramatically over the last year.
For this economical reason, but also because of the quality of oil tankers that call being improved, the Shetland Island Council had to reconsider further participation with the Green Award incentive scheme. Also on behalf of the Green Award certified oil tankers, we like to thank the Port of Sullom Voe for their participation and their professional input in the Green Award Board of Experts by Captain George Sutherland at that time. We wish a bright future for the Shetland Islands and Sullom Voe.
