NEW MEMBERS GREEN AWARD BOARD OF EXPERTS

Mr. Peter Alkema and Mr. Robert Tieman have been appointed member of the Green Award Board of Experts.

Mr. Alkema
represents the Port of Amsterdam, one of the valued incentive providers for Green Award ships and one of the motivators of the start-up of Green Award for Inland Shipping. Mr. Alkema has a seafarer’s back-ground: he started as a mate and after 20 years finished his seafarer’s career as a captain. He worked for the Port of Amsterdam as nautical adviser and currently holds the position of strategic policy adviser.

Mr. Tieman
graduated in 1999 from the Naval Academy in Amsterdam and studied subsequently Integrated Port Management. After serving the Dutch navy he held several positions as Hazmat Instructor and Dangerous Goods Adviser in the Netherlands and in the USA. Since 2007 he works for the Central Bureau for Inland Barging CBRB. As Manager Safety and Environment he is responsible for Dutch and International regulatory advocacy issues as they relate to inland shipping. CBRB is also one of the motivators of the start-up of Green Award for Inland Shipping.

Green Award is proud to have these two gentlemen on board and believes that their expertise will be a good addition to the Board of Experts.
