Mr. Lorenz and Mr. Alimchandani


Two new members have joined the Green Award Board of Experts:


Mr. Hendrik Lorenz
Mr. Hendrik Lorenz graduated in 1992 from the Maritime Academy at Hamburg/ Germany as Industrial Engineer of Maritime Transport. He has a seafarer background and is holder of a Captains‘ Licence. After finishing his seafarer career he worked as an Average Agent, as Operations Manager for Chemical Tankers, at a Certifier as Lead Auditor for Quality-, Environmental-, Safety-, and ISM Management Systems, and was Chairman of Port of Hamburg Marketing.

Actual he is Managing Director of his own Consulting Company “Hendrik Lorenz Consulting” and employed at Reederei Jaegers at Duisburg/ Germany as Head of the departments Quality Management, Safety and Dangerous Goods, as well as Insurance and Average. Since June 2015 he is listed Arbitrator at the Arbitration Court for Inland Shipping at the Schifferbörse Duisburg/ Germany.

 

                                                                       Mr. Jai Alimchandani
Jai Alimchandani is Deputy Director for Regulatory Affairs at Maersk Maritime Technology, a Group function of A.P. Moller – Maersk and is based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He monitors regulatory, technical & operational developments nationally and internationally, with main focus on IMO, EU & Denmark. Jai commenced his career as a seagoing engineer with Maersk, culminating in his taking delivery as Chief Engineer, in 1999, of one is a series of the then world’s largest container vessel from the Lindo Shipyard in Denmark.

He oversaw the correct implementation of Maersk’s Pilot Fuel Switch on their vessels calling California ports when the program commenced in March 2006. Whilst in California he made presentations to CARB & POLA, amongst others, explaining the company’s practical experience in fuel switching. He was then instrumental in the formulation and implementation of US EPA’s Vessel General Permit in the Maersk Fleet. He provides ongoing advice to the fleet on regulatory compliance, with an emphasis on MARPOL.
