No increase of Green Award Tariffs

Following the latest Committee meeting, the management of Green Award is pleased to advise that for the year 2008, the Green Award Tariffs will not increase.

This is the sixth time in the history of Green Award that due to the introduction of new processes and technology we are able to share efficiencies gained with our valued certificate holders.

This implies that the tariffs for application fees, office audit fees and annual fees are still on the level of 2002. If the inflation rate over the past years is taken into account, it can be determined that - in fact - the GA tariffs have been decreased.

We are happy to share this success of Green Award with our participants and are grateful to them for their efforts and confidence.

Committee and Board of Experts

Capt. Phil Davies has taken over the helm of OCIMF from Mr. Paul Markides and consequently takes over the seat on the Committee of the Green Award Foundation.

After sailing as Master with Chevron, Capt. Davies came ashore in 1996. He has held a number of management positions within Chevron, most recently he served as a member of Chevron Shipping’s Leadership Team while managing the Safety, Environment & External Affairs function.

Board of Experts
Ms Christiana Prekezes has been appointed member of the Green Award Board of Experts. She is the successor of Capt. D. Mitsatsos, who resigned from the Green Award Board of Experts. Ms. Prekezes is employed by HELMEPA in 1988. She has been heading the Maritime Sector of the Association and currently she is also responsible for Maritime and International Relations of the International Marine Environment Protection Association- INTERMEPA.

Green Award is delighted that both Ms Prekezes and Mr. Davies are willing to make their experience available in order to contribute to the further development of Green Award.

Arcadia Shipmanagement Co. Ltd. “Tanker Company of the year”

Arcadia Shipmanagement Co. Ltd. has won the "Tanker company of the Year" Award for its worldwide trade services.

Arcadia received the prize during the event “Lloyds List Greek Shipping Awards 2007”, held in Athens on Friday 7th December 2007. Since Arcadia Shipmanagement Co. Ltd. has been Green Award certified, Green Award congratulates Arcadia on this success.
