World Ports Climate Conference

'World Ports for a better climate' is the title of the World Ports Climate Conference that will be held on 9 - 11 July 2008 in Rotterdam.

Port authorities and cities share the responsibility with their business partners to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve the air quality in ports. The conference organisers are convinced that international cooperation between ports, (port) cities and port business communities is essential to achieve this objective and that the time for action has come now. The involvement of leaders of the world's most important ports is of the utmost importance to give a clear message and to ensure the broadest support for clean ports and clean shipping.

During the conference, a select number of companies and organisations that offer special products or services for a better climate, will present their innovations by means of soundless pictures, poster presentations and an informative page in the conference proceedings.

The Green Award Foundation will participate in the exhibition, under the motto: Green Award, a simple recognised tool to address air quality issues. The more ports joining, the better the effect.
