Freeport of Riga Green Award incentive provider

Green Award has a new incentive provider on the Baltic Sea – Freeport of Riga Authority has joined the scheme and provides 10% discount on port dues for oil tankers holding Green Award certificate.

On Thursday August 19 during the official reception at the Latvian National Opera opening The Riga Port 810th Anniversary celebration, Mr. Ainārs Šlesers (board chairman, Freeport of Riga) received the Green Award plaque from Jan Fransen (Managing Director of Green Award), to mark the occasion of the official participation of the port of Riga in the scheme.

The Freeport of Riga Authority’s decision to participate in Green Award is one of the steps taken by the port within the frameworks of their Corporate Social Responsibility plan as a tool to mitigate environmental impact.
The Freeport of Riga provides 10% discount on port dues to Green Award certified oil tankers.
