Harilaos Psaraftis Chairman Green Award Foundation

The Green Award Foundation has named the Greek Harilaos N. Psaraftis as its new Chairman, succeeding Pieter Struijs after his five-year tenure.

Harilaos N. Psaraftis is currently Professor of transport optimization at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Department of Transport. Prior to that, he has also served as faculty member at MIT and at the National Technical University of Athens. In addition to his academic endeavours, Psaraftis has significant administrative and industrial experience, having served as CEO of the Piraeus Port Authority (OLP) for close to 5 ½ years.

Mr. Psaraftis said: ‘It is an honour for me to serve the Green Award Foundation as chairman and to take over the helm from Pieter Struijs. He is the founding father of Green Award and his personal involvement furthered the development and growth of the Green Award Foundation and its certification program”.

Mr. Struijs will delegate his responsibilities to Mr. Psaraftis during the next Green Award Board meeting in London in November 2013. Green Award will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2014.
