Sequel to the ESG Shipping Awards 2024 International held earlier this year, on October 18, the organizers will host a conference at Ble Pavillon, Alimos, Athens, Greece, starting at 9:30 am
.
The conference will provide an opportunity to gain insight into the actions that earned the winners the awards, the impact of the actions on their operations, and the challenges and opportunities they faced during implementation.
It will also be an excellent experience-sharing moment, offering stakeholders critical insights into international ESG best practices and allowing them to benchmark against industry leaders as well as network and communicate with peers.
“It was indeed an honour to serve as chair of the judging committee of such an important event that recognizes and celebrates industry leaders doing their best to be more responsible in their operations. I shared my thoughts and reflections from the event in this blog in case you missed it,” said Jan Fransen, Executive Director, Green Award Foundation.
“The ESG Shipping Award is an event that we strongly relate to at Green Award because we benchmark our certification programme on two major frameworks – the UN SDG and ESG,” said Jan.
The Green Award certification requirement touches directly on promoting 13 of the 17 SDGs. Our latest benchmarking report, which measures the environmental performance of our certified ships, found that 75% of Green Award certified ships scored 60% above international standards.
“It’s exciting to see how forward-thinking shipping companies strive to exceed international standards, such as those set by the IMO, to improve their safety and environmental performance. I look forward to the conversation that will be stirred at the conference as forward-thinking players in the industry share experiences on best practices to promote cleaner and safer waterborne transportation,” Jan added.
