The Rotterdam-based office of the Green Award Foundation is currently seeking a motivated,
passionate, and result-oriented person for the role of ship surveyor.

SHIP SURVEYOR (SEAGOING) (1.0 FTE)

 

Green Award certifies ships are extra safe and extra clean. The certification is available to most ship types: containers, tankers, bulkers, gas carriers, roro, and offshore, Certified seagoing ships meet high, but manageable technical and managerial requirements. Apart from seagoing ships, almost inland barges and river cruises are also certified.

A large number of ports, maritime service providers and equipment suppliers recognize the value of Green Award worldwide. They offer special rates and other advantages to the Green Award vessels. The Green award certificate confirms the high quality of the vessel and it contributes to a positive image of the ship owner with all the advantages this entails.

 

Who are you?

We are in search of an experienced surveyor residing in The Netherlands that can carry out ship surveys, office audits and give input on our certification requirements. You have the appropriate technical and auditing skills to survey ships in order to make sure they meet the Green Award certification requirements.

You are optimistic by nature and believe that with time, commitment, curiosity, perseverance, and conviction you can change the world. You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves to create that change. You have a proactive mindset and are good at handling periods of intense workload.

 

The successful applicant will:

  • Speak and write the English language fluently
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Have 12 years experience working as a maritime officer
  • Be a qualified master / chief engineer for all ships
  • Familiar with quality systems and onboard surveys
  • Residing in The Netherlands (within daily commutable distance to our office in Rotterdam)
  • Be prepared to travel worldwide by various transportation mode
  • Be a team player and also willing and able to work alone worldwide on a routine basis, also during evenings and weekends
  • Have ability to organise and prioritise your own work
  • Be quality minded, curious, accurate
  • Be team player, with well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Have IT-skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and inspection software)
