Rotterdam, 15 September 2025 – Rapide Bevrachting is giving a powerful impetus to making inland shipping more sustainable. As an official incentive provider, the Werkendam-based charterer will reimburse 100% of the certificate costs for the Green Award certificate to ships that structurally sail for Rapide.
With this initiative, Rapide actively promotes safe, clean and responsible waterborne transport. The reimbursement applies to all regular relations vessels that meet the requirements for Green Award certification.
During an official moment, Jan Fransen, executive director of Green Award, handed over the recognisable logo to representatives of Rapide Bevrachting – a confirmation of their new role within the network of sustainable pioneers.
“Rapide shows that sustainability and entrepreneurship go hand in hand. This is an example for the sector,” Fransen said.
Leendert Hoogendoorn, Logistics Manager Rapide Bevrachting added:
With this initiative, we will actively support our partners and take responsibility together for the future of inland shipping. By investing in Green Award, we are taking a step forward towards a cleaner and safer sector.
