We’re pleased to welcome three highly experienced professionals to our Board of Experts (BoE): Louise Hall, Menno de Sera, and Jos Seinen. Their expertise across nautical operations, inland navigation, river cruising, risk management, and sustainability will further strengthen Green Award’s mission and certification standards.
With broad experience across the maritime industry, Louise specializes in loss prevention, risk management, and operational performance. Her background spans senior roles in P&I, ship management, and port and vessel operations, providing her with a comprehensive view of the maritime value chain.
Louise has also played a key role in advancing sustainability initiatives, including ESG reporting and collaborative industry projects. She holds a master’s degree in marine surveying and has a seagoing background as a navigating officer.

Menno de Sera is Vice President Nautical Operations at Viking, where he leads the Nautical Department for river operations. He oversees a fleet of inland passenger vessels operating primarily on the Rhine and other key European waterways, with a strong focus on safety management and continuous improvement.
With more than 25 years of experience in inland navigation, Menno has built his career combining hands-on operational experience with senior leadership roles. His background includes extensive experience as a river captain, followed by management responsibilities in planning, compliance, training, and quality.
Menno’s expertise is supported by formal nautical education and captain qualifications, alongside a strong emphasis on structured training and professional development within Viking.

Jos Seinen is Nautical Director at Rivertech Holding AG, where he oversees the nautical management of a fleet of river cruise vessels and leads initiatives in learning, development, and organizational growth.
With over 40 years of experience in European inland waterways and more than 25 years in the river cruise industry, Jos has progressed from sailor to captain before moving into senior management roles. He previously served as Director of Nautical Operations at Viking Cruises, where he was responsible for a large fleet and multidisciplinary nautical teams.
Jos brings a strong focus on safety, environmental responsibility, and quality standards. He is also a board member of River Cruise Europe, contributing to industry discussions on professionalization and sustainability.
