Green Award welcomes Agrominne Binnenvaart NV as a new incentive provider. From 8 November 2024, Agrominne will contribute up to 100% of the certification costs of vessels affiliated to them.
Part of the Maaskade Group, Agrominne specialises in the transport of agribulk, fertiliser, minerals and project cargo. Given their position within the food chain, Agrominne attaches great importance to food safety.
Rebecca Beaussart, charterer and co-shareholder of Agrominne: “Quality and safety are paramount for us. That’s why we consciously choose to work with Green Award. We want to encourage our vessels to go the extra mile when it comes to safety and the environment.”
Jan Fransen, Executive Director of Green Award, welcomes the cooperation: ‘We see a growing interest in Green Award within Belgian inland navigation, a sector that is crucial for freight transport in Western Europe. We therefore warmly welcome an important player like Agrominne.”
This collaboration underlines Agrominne’s commitment to sustainable shipping and offers inland navigation operators a valuable opportunity to enjoy the benefits of Green Award certification. This certificate recognises vessels that meet high safety and environmental standards, and gives access to various incentives, including discounts on port fees, products and services.
Agrominne Inland Navigation reimburses 100% of the certification fee for fixed hire vessels. For other vessels meeting Green Award standards, the reimbursement is between 50% and 100%, depending on the number of annual voyages under Agrominne’s direction.
