We are pleased to announce Hans Christian Seim, CEO of the Norwegian Hull Club, as the newest member of the Green Award Board. With his extensive leadership experience in the maritime and offshore insurance sectors, Mr. Seim brings deep industry insight and strategic expertise to the Board’s mission of advancing safety, sustainability, and quality across global shipping.

Hans Christian Seim has led the Norwegian Hull Club since 2016, where he drives strategic development and innovation in marine and offshore insurance. Over more than 20 years with the company, he has held senior leadership positions including Chief Operating Officer, Director of P&I, and Director of Offshore Energy & Special Risks.
A naval architect and marine engineer by training, Mr. Seim began his career as an officer and project manager in the Royal Norwegian Navy. He holds degrees from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as well as advanced management credentials from IMD Business School.
Beyond his executive role, Mr. Seim serves as Chair of the Boards of Marine Benefits and NIORD, and is a member of the DNV Council, contributing to the broader development of the maritime industry through collaboration, safety leadership, and innovation.
His appointment strengthens the Green Award Board’s collective expertise and its ability to guide the programme’s strategic direction in promoting sustainable practices and high standards across the industry.
