Meet our Incentive Provider: Kamji Marine Group

One of the core aspects of the Green Award Foundation is our Incentive Providers platform, which rewards ships that exceed IMO standards. Our incentive providers include ports, shipping organizations, and maritime service/product suppliers who often leverage our platform as a tool for environmental sustainability, supporting and joining us to reward shipping companies that go above and beyond in maintaining safety and cleanliness.

Kamji Marine Group is our first incentive provider from China, partnering with us since 2017. Committed to environmental protection and the sustainable development of the shipping industry, Kamji provides safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly one-stop services aimed at reducing pollution and promoting shipping safety.

Speaking of the impact of joining forces with Green Award Foundation as an incentive provider, Andy Liu, CEO of Kamji Marine Group Pte Ltd noted, “since our enrollment in the Green Award program in 2017, we have consistently surpassed industry safety and environmental standards as well as legal requirements, contributing to the advancement of shipping safety and sustainability.”

“Our contributions are mainly reflected in the services provided by our organizations, all focused on reducing environmental pollution and promoting shipping safety,” said Andy. “These include Zhoushan Kamji Marine Agency Ltd, Zhoushan Glory Tech Ship Engineering Co., Ltd, and Zhoushan Dan Ocean Ship Service Co., Ltd.” Andy added.

“At Zhoushan Kamji Marine Agency Ltd, we specialize in providing protective agency services for vessels in China, including handling formalities for dry docking, crew changes, port stay control inspection assistance, ship pollution response agreement signings, customs clearance for spare parts, cash-to-master services, sludge and garbage disposal, and tanker cleaning. These services ensure compliance with regulations and minimize the environmental impact of ship operations,” Andy explained.

“For Zhoushan Glory Tech Ship Engineering Co., Ltd, we offer professional support for firefighting and life-saving equipment, along with addressing technical issues like firefighting equipment and lifesaving appliance inspections, diesel engine repairs, troubleshooting, and ship pollution analysis. These efforts enhance ship energy efficiency and reduce emissions, promoting the green transformation of the shipping industry,” Andy added.

“Meanwhile, Zhoushan Dan-Ocean Ship Service Co., Ltd focuses on supplying ship spare parts, stores, and provisions through warehouses in Ningbo and Zhoushan, supported by a logistics chain that covers the entire Chinese coast and overseas. This ensures timely access to necessary materials for vessels, reducing shipping delays and the emissions caused by material shortages. Additionally, all products we supply are accompanied by a Material Declaration and a Supplier Declaration of Compliance, ensuring they are not classified under IHM inventory and do not cause environmental harm,” Andy said.

Highlighting a recent emergency response, Andy shared, “This year, during a navigational emergency where the captain fell ill 500 nautical miles from shore, our team efficiently devised a rescue plan and established a dedicated rescue channel, ensuring the captain’s safety and demonstrating our commitment to crew welfare and vessel safety.”

As an incentive provider for the Green Award program, Kamji Marine Group offers a service discount of up to 3 to 5% for Green Award-certified ships and companies. This includes services such as shipowner’s agency services, ship pollution response organization agreement signings, oil spill response, sludge and garbage disposal, tanker cleaning, technical repairs, and ship spare parts supply.

Spotlighting some of their achievements, Andy noted, “We are honored to have established cooperative alliances with approximately 130 international clients, including prominent names like Danaos, Minerva Marine Inc., Neda, Aegean Bulk, Samos, Eagle Bulk, OOCL, Torm, Goodwill, Grace Ocean, Nissen Kaiun, Navios, Synergy, and Nord.
